My Darling Clementine Autumn Newsletter

05 Sep, 2018

Hi everyone

Welcome to the Autumn newsletter.

Around our way, the long hot summer of 2018 is fading from view and a chill can be felt in the air. Perfect time then to take to the road and play some shows

All the Autumn tour dates are listed below with live ticket links.

So friends in England, Wales and Scotland, and Germany, France and The Netherlands …. you are just one click away from booking your tickets.

If possible, can we ask that you PLEASE book your tickets in advance. It is certainly cheaper but it also helps re-assure the promoters. Leaving until the last minute can sometime lead to promoters getting cold feet and wanting to cancel if advance sales are low.

Given these maybe our last shows in the UK for quite a while, we want them all to be great and busy nights. Thank you.

If there are certain songs you would like us to play, maybe a favourite you have never heard us play before, please let us know, and we will do our best to include it.

We are also working on a few of our favourite songs by other writers for this tour so if you fancy hearing us do a cover of your choice, we’d love to hear your suggestion. No promises though!

Like everyone, we were heartbroken to hear of the passing of Aretha Franklin. What can you say about an extraordinary talent and an extraordinary life? As Elvis Costello wrote in his post about her on Twitter “No words worthy”.

She was always an influence on My Darling Clementine, which some may find hard to believe given the country origins of what we do, especially our first album. But take a listen to Yours Is The Cross from Still Testifying (via Soundcloud OR on YouTube).

At around 1 min, 44 sec, those backing vocals. Sound familiar?

Blessings to Queen Aretha and thanks to Angie Pollock, and Oliver Darling for being our very own soul sisters on this song

Two projects we are currently supporting are:

1. MUSIC MINDS: An album and a concert to raise funds and awareness for mental health issues. More details about the album and the project in general here, while tickets for the London concert available here. We will be on stage for approx 20 minutes. Other acts include Chris Difford, Andy Fairweather-Low, Thomas Lang and many more

2. SINGING THROUGH THE WALL – Songs for Western Sahara: Also an album, a very beautifully packaged double album, which can be bought, or downloaded and streamed here.

Please check them out when you can and if feel so inclined to buy an album or a ticket, that would be brilliant

Back in Stock!

12 Jun, 2018
Two of Michael’s solo albums are now back in stock  after an absence of over 3 years…

“ForgetMeNots” (2009) is a collection of tracks mostly recorded for compilations and tribute albums including Michael and Mike Cosgraves cover of Kein Coyne’s  Raindrops of the Window.

Also includes a very early preview of the first My Darling Clementine album, a live version of the much requested Townes Van Zandt song ‘Rake’, as well as the late Duane Jarvis’ poignant interpretation of the Good Sons anthem ‘Mathilda.’

Order now and get a free copy of the 13 track compilations album “Handpicked” with it.

“Crawling Through The USA” was released on Valve-Records in 2008 and was recorded live at various locations across America, mainly at radio stations and in concert. Features “The Dancing Around” and Lou’s version of “Cosmic Fireworks.” Both songs only available on this album.
